ALLIES’ RELIEF REFRESHMENT ROOMS.

(To the Editor-) Sir,—l am assured that a great many residents in the district in which your paper is circulated, are most anxious to assist in the venture that we are undertaking at the Spring Show, to be held in Palmerston North next week. As it is impossible for me to get into touch with all, I would be very much obliged if you will kindly publish this letter of explanation.

We are going to run tea-rooms, light counter luncheons, and the proceeds are to be devoted to the fund for the poor of Great Britain and Ireland and Belguira. We expect that the general public attending the Show will be keen to refresh themselves at our stalls, and therefore a very large supply of suitable provisions will be required, and to make the venture a complete success, such supplies should be contributed. We shall be very grateful for gifts of cakes, hard boiled eggs, butter, meat for sandwiches etc., and any ladies who care to volunteer to assist in the tea-room will be heartily welcomed. Anyone who desires further particulars will kindly communicate with me. Thanking you for your help in publishing this letter.—l am etc,, Constance P. Abraham, Hon. Secretary Allies’ Relief Committee. Palmerston, N. October 27th 1914,]
