DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
Bight hundred and sixty-one patients were admitted to the District Hospital during the year ended March 31st, and including 54 in the institution at the beginning of the year, made a total of 915, 787 were discharged, 67 died and there were 61 under treatment on March 31st. The inmates included 520 males and 395 females. Districts from which patients came: Palmerston North, 377 ; Feilding, 65 ; Foxton, 44 ; Manawatu County, 66 ; Kairanga County, 124 ; Oroua County, 61 ; Kiwitea County, 43 ; Pohangina County, 19; Rongotea, 26; Wellington, 47 ; Wanganui, 20 ; other Hospital Districts, 23 ; total, 915. Nationalities of Patients : New Zealand, 572 ; English, 169 ; Irish, 53 ; Scotch, 33 ; Australian, 47 : Danes, 13 ; German, g ; Canadian, 1 ; United States ot America, 1 ; Welsh, 2 ; Swede, 5 ; South Africa, 2 ; Norway, 5 ; South America, 1 ; Swiss, 1 ; Bohemian, 1 ; total, 915.
