ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES

The programme screened at the Royal last night, including the intensely interesting star drama, “A Cry in the Night,” was well received. It will be repeated tonight. For to-morrow night the chief picture is, “The Mystery Rady,” an entrancing play of the sixteenth century. It is a love story told amid exciting scenes, with a grand novel plot of startling surprises. Other films are, “Simple Simon’s Family Drama,” one of the Gaumont Company’s very best and brightest mirthmakers; “Marvels of the Invisible World” (interest), “Hiram’s Hotel’' (comic), “Gaumont Graphic,” full of interesting news from all over the world, “One Round O’Brien comes into the Ring” (comic), “Thieves,” a clever Vitagraph drama, and “Making a Diving,” the king of farce tunmakers.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. To-morrow night’s programme for the above includes a most attractive star drama, “Rorke’s Drift.” The incident here related stands out as one of the most glorious examples of British valour. The other items of the programme are: Pathe Gazette (topical), A lighthouse in Darkness (drama), A Busy Day (comic), Water Falls of America (scenic), Duty (drama), Hubby’s Night Off (comic), Sor Fjorden, Norway (scenic), He Never Found Out (comic).
