AUGUST GRADING RETURNS. Hemp, The total number of bales graded was 5,003, as compared with 8,153 lor the corresponding month of last year, a decrease 01 3,150 bales. For the twelve months ending 31st August, 1914. the number of bales graded wt. 126,319, as compared with 154,249 for the previous twelve months, the decrease being 27,390 bales. The number graded at each port was : Auckland 985, Foxton 1,951, Wellington 1,802, Lyttelton 102, Dunedin 26 and Bluff 137Following are the details ; Good High Low Fine. Fair. Pnt. Pnt. Auckland Foxton Wellington 8 441 1,243 no Lyttelton 38 39 Dunedin Bluff Four bales at Foxton, 66 at Auckland, and 25 at Lyttelton were graded common, and thirtyfive bales at Auckland and 5 at Foxton were rejected. Tow. During the month 1,240 bales were dealt with, as compared with 2,545 lor the corresponding mouth of last year, a decrease of 1,305 bales. For the twelve months ending 31st August, 1914, the number ot bales graded was 40,635, as compared with 53,671 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 13,036 bales.
