THE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

DEPARTURE POSTPONED. Wellington, Sept. 23. His Excellency the Governor received advice from the Imperial Government early this morning that the New Zealand Expeditionary Force will not sail tor some little time. The Governor is anxious, for obvious reasons, to take the people into his confidence on this matter at the earliest possible moment, but would certainly request them not to make this a subject of comment, as the delay is solely caused by the exigencies of the service when such extensive operations are everywhere in progress. This applies as well to the other expeditionary forces of the overseas Dominions.
