WELCOME SOCIAL.
A welcome social was tendered to the Rev. W. and Mrs Rains by the parishioners of All Saints’ in the schoolroom last evening. The affair was organised by the Ladies Guild and the programme by Mr R. In responding to the welcome, the vicar asked for the co operation, sympathy and loyalty of parishioners in his work. He thanked them for the alterations that had been effected at the vicarage and hoped they would work together in goodfellowship and harmony. On behalf of Mrs Raine and himself he thanked them for their kindly welcome, Mrs Raine was presented with a handsome floral bouquet. The following con tributed items, which were much appreciated :—Mesdames Guilder, T. Robinson, Leary, Freeman, and Boyes ; Misses Kempton and King and Messrs Jenks, Buglass, Barr, Hornblow, Signal, Collins and Simmons. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Boyes, Misses Betty, Jenks and Collins and Mr Collins. Mr Boyes thanked all those who had contributed to the programme. The ladies provided refreshments.
