LIST OF CONTRIBUTIONS. The following contributions have been made locally to the different, patriotic funds : Empire Defence Fund.

On Tuesday next, at Foxlon, r.'. 2.30 p.m„ Harry Palmer, of Palmerston N., will sell by auction on behalf of the Railway Department, the old post office buildings and outhouses for removal. J. M. Barr notifies in his advertising space to-day that he has just opened a consignment of new summer dress fabrics, comprising a beautiful range ol all that is newest in dainty dre.-s goads. The Cash Trading Co. notify by replace advertisement to-day that on and after September 21st they intend to conduct a strictly cash business, and give no credit absolutely. They will not deliver goods or canvass for orders but prices will be such as will compel the public to purchase at their shop. Prices will be quoted each week.
