RIFLE CLUB.
A well-attented general meeting of the Foxton Defence Rifle Club was held in the Coronation Hall supper-room last night. The president, Mr G. O. Barber, occupied the chair. Five new members were elected. It was decided to open the season with a teams match on Wednesday and Saturday next, the 16th and xgth instants. Teams to be selected by the president and vicepresidents. Mr W. Kirkley was appointed drill instructor and it was decided that drill be held on Tuesday evenings in the Coronation Hall supper-room, at the conclusion of the senior cadets drill, commencing next Tuesday. The following are the officers of the club which were elected at the annual meeting of the club:—• President, Mr G. O. Barber ; vicepresidents, Messrs C. Rand and G. H. Stiles ; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Ashmore ; committee, Messrs A. Fraser, W. Raine, C. F. Johnston and E. Ingram.
