HOROWHENUA TROTTING CLUB.

The first annual meeting of the above club will be held at Levin to morrow, and, according to reports, a very successful meeting should take place. These will be the first trotting races held in this district, and the stewards of the new club have been most liberal with the programme. For the seven events the sum of is provided, the Horowhenua handicap being worth Excursion lares have been granted by the Railway Department from Wellington and Palmerston N., and other stations along the line. A band will be in attendance, and the catering is in the hands of Mr A. L. Williams. Splendid acceptances have been received, and horses from Christchurch, Hawke’s Bay, Petone, Masterton, Taranaki, and other places, will compete at the meeting. Given fine weather, a large attendance should be recorded, and a successful meeting result.
