A’s (7; v. B’s (o). Although the A’s were one man short they had no difficulty in disposing of the B's, who, true to their name had a decided tendency to swarm. Had it not been for the excellent goal keeping of Reuben the A’s would have had a far higher tally to their credit. The scorers were, L. Bryant (3), McMurray (2) and Matthew (2). At a general meeting of the Hockey Clubs held on Tuesday evening, it was decided to abandon the Fancy Dress Ball and to hold instead a combined ladies’ and men’s five-aside tournament on Wednesday, 16th inst, A committee of men was elected to make all arrangements. At a subsequent meeting the committee decided to hold the tournament on the racecourse, and with the permission of the Racing Club to make a charge of 6d and 3d for admission. Five gold medals are to be given for the winning teams, and the profits are to be handed over to the Distress Fund.
