MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CIVII. CASES. At the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court, held before MrJ. W. Poynton, S.M. yesterday, judgment for plaintiffs was entered up in the following undefended civil cases T. Henderson v. F. Wallis claim £ 1 2s. costs ns; G. H. Stiles v. W. Yourg 9s yd, costs 12s; .Easton and Co. v. Nap Heta £1 13s Bd, costs 12s 6d ; L. R. Freeman v. W. Dougal £5 SS, costs 25s 6d ; Veitch and Allan v. W. Dougal £2 2s, costs ns; Stiles and Mathesonv. A. Huff costs 30s 6d; State Advances Office v. S. Burnett £5 12s 2d, costs Ss: and W. Ward v. John Walls £5, costs 10s. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES.
In the case West Coast Steamship and Trading Co. Ltd. v. F. Spiers, there was no appearance of judgment debtor, and his nonappearance was unexplained, and he was ordered to pay amount due, £$ 5s 6d forthwith, in defauult four days imprisonment in Wellington gaol. Warrant to be suspended if amount is paid by instalments of £1 per month, the first payment to be made before August 28 th. There was also no appearance of the judgment debtor in the case Johnston and Sons v. W. Dougal, the amount due being £3, and a similar order to the above was made with the exception that the the penalty for non-compliance is three days imprisonment.
T. Rimmer v. Watson and Matthews. debtor appeared, and an order was made by consent, for the payment of the amount due 7s, bv instalments of £2 per month, first payment to be made bv August 24th.
