HOCKEY.
The ladies competition for the Gillespie Cup will be continued to-morrow in Perreau’s paddock. Tuis play Motuiti at 2 o’clock sharp, referee’ Mr Woods ; Awahou v. School at 3.15, referees Messrs Gabites and Cook. The Awahou - school game should be well worth seeing as both sides are out to win. The superior weight and hitting power of the Awahous will probably be too much for the School, but still a good fight is expected. The defence of the School is inclined to be weak owing to their halves going up into the circle in the endeavour to score. Their forward line, however, plays a fast passing game that will be responsible for more than one goal to-morrow.
