MUNICIPAL PICTURES

A real first class programme is to be screened at the above pictures to-morrow evening. The star drama, “ Peril of the White Lights,” is a renowned feature play by the Kalem Co, It is a fascinating story of stage life telling of a girl’s career as an actress. Annabelle, a show girl accidentally slays a notorious scoundrel. The girl is later tried and acquitted. Harris urges Annabelle to return to the stage, and use the notoriety she has gained as the result of the incident. The girl repulses the man, and leaves for the country. Annabelle makes her home with Mrs Foster, a distant relative, who is ignorant of the girl’s past. Jack, Mrs Foster’s son, falls in love with Annabelle. Because of her past," the girl refuses to marry him. Later, Harris, who is passing through the village, urges her to return to the stage, and upon her refusal the man threatens to expose her. Terrified, Annabelle runs away leaving a note of explanation for Mrs Foster. Foiled, Harris tells Mrs Foster of Annabelle’s past, and the woman announces her determination ot standing by the unfortunate girl. Jack learns of his sweetheart’s flight and goes to the city in search of her. Tired and discouraged he drops into a restaurant. The sound of the waitress’s voice causes him to raise his head in delight. He has found Annabelle, and the next moment has her in his arms, regardless of the surprised stares of the people about him. The other dramas are “ A Royal Romance,” which is a captivating love story of great heart appeal, and “The King’s Man ” being a particularly powerful play ot the Canadian North West woods replete with stirring sensations. A very fine sporting picture will be seen in “ Stadium Sports,” while the Industrial film “Fish Culture” is a series of remarkable interest and value. The comics are “Marriage Potion,” “ Smiles of Fortune” and “ When Cupid took in Washing.” These three may all be described as bright and breezy mirth makers.
