The Rev D. C. Bates wires today as follows: — The indications are for variable and strong breezes, but southeasterly strong wind to gale prevailing shortly. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled; cold night; rain probable. The barometer has a falling tendency, but rising shortly. Sea considerable, tides poor.
