CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I notice a certain section of the Christian Church is making strenuous efforts to have the Bible introduced into the State schools. Don't you think, sir, it’s about time they gave a little more time to their own flocks by talking straight-out truths to their members or office bearers from the pulpit, to set a better example in Christian living to non-church-goers, instead of attempting to shuffle the church’s sacred duty on to the State. Thousands were driven out of a certain State church years ago by reason of its sporting parsons and to-day there is abundant evidence of its spiritual lifelessness. What about Sunday golf, and other pastimes on the part of its H’-Y-p lights ? If it attempted to its own house in order before gallivanting about the country agitating for Blble-in-Schools, it would be more in keeping with the teaching of its Great bounder. The Church should render unto God the things that are of God, and let the State attend to Caesar.—Yours in anticipation, A Sinner.
