The programme for Saturday evening -promises to be very good. The star drama, “The Raiders,” is a western play of great virility by the popular K.B. Co. It tells a story of life in the wilds of the Kentucky Mountains, where a gang of “Moonlighters” are engaged in working an illicit whisky still. The play, which occupies over half an hour in the enactment, is brimful with exciting incidents. Mary Evans, the daughter of the head of the gang, is to marry Jack Keane, one of the “Moonlighters.” The latter has a dangerous rival in Bill Gale, who is wrathful when Mary weds Keane. In order to be revenged upon Keane the villainous Gale turns informer and receives reward from the authorities. He leads the revenue officers to the vicinity of the still, but the “Moonlighters” have kept a vigilant watch for outsiders, with the result that they put up a most determined fight with rifles against the representatives of the law. Gale during the thick of the battle runs away, but is seen and wounded ,by one of the gang. Gale takes refuge in Mary’s house. Determined that the treacherous Gale shall pay the full price for his villainy, Mary waits till the revenue officers are approaching the house in the moonlight, fthen she tells Gale the gang is coming towards the place. She lets Gale run away and then tells the revenue officers that the fugitive is one of the “ Moonlighters ” escaping. The officers pursue him and shoot the traitor down in his tracks. The other dramas are, “What the Crystal Told,” and “His Last Fight.” The former tells a striking story of a girl’s frailty and a woman’s revenge; while the latter is one of the Vitagraph’s strenuous photo plays. As usual, “The Warwick Chronicle,” will contain all the latest news in motion pictures. “ Making Bessemer Steel,” is a very fine industrial film by the Gaumont Co. The comics are, “The Uncanny Mr Gumble,” and “Mary Ann does the Grand,” and are such that will create roars of laughter.
