MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
QUARTERLY RETURNS. The local Clerk of the Court (Mr Woods) has supplied us with the following details of the business transacted at the Magistrate’s Court for the quarter ended June 30th, 1914During the period, three sittings were presided over by the Magistrate, and eight by Justices. civil. The number of cases heard was 69, the amount sued for being 2s Bd, and the amount recovered 15s Bd. Sixty-nine plaints were issued, five distress warrants, eight judgment summonses, and two orders. Sixty summonses were served, and seven distress warrants executed. The total fees paid in stamps amounted to £3l 7s. , CRIMINAL. Fifteen persons were apprehended or summoned. Nine were fined, one imprisoned, four orders made, and one convicted and discharged. The fines and fees paid in stamps totalled £6 7s, OLD AGE PENSIONS. One old age pension and one’ widow’s pension were granted.
