WEDDING.
HURLEY—CURRAN
At St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday last, Mr Jas. Hurley, of Foxton, was united in matrimony to Brigid, second daughter of the late Mr Jas. Curran, of Roslyn, Dunedin, and erstwhile Grallagh Farm, County Waterford, Ireland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Father Dore and the bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr H, Oben. The bride was dressed in a tailored navy costume and wore a black beaver hat trimmed with black ostrich tips and carried an ivory covered prayer book, as did also the bridesmaid, Miss Gussie O’Sullivan, of Dunedin, niece ot the bride, and wore a flame coloured costume with black trimmings and black velour hat with fur trimmings and flame coloured mount. Little Miss Lalla Mary Oben, another neice of the bride, looked quaint in her cream velvet frock and saxe blue coat and bonnet with festoon of orange blossom, white muff and stole. The bridegroom was attended by Mr J. Boyle, of Wellington, as best man. Mrs Curran and Mrs Oben, mother and sister of the bride, were present at the mass and ceremony. The party motored to the Post Office Hotel, accompanied by the Rev Father Dore, where the breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honoured. Mr and Mrs Hurley left by motor amid showers of confetti and the hearty good wishes of their friends for Palmerston North en route for Dunedin and Invercargill where they will sojourn for some weeks. They were the recipients of some very handsome presents.
