WEDDING.

EVANS—CUMMERFIELD

A quiet wedding was celebrated in the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon by the Rev W. G. MasJin, the contracting parties being Mr Alfred Evans, second son of Mrs D. Evans, of Foxton, and late of Otaucau, and Miss Nesta Cummerfield, eldest daughter of Mr J. Cummer field, of Foxton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a navy -blue costume with a black beaver hat and white plume. She was attended as bridesmaids by Miss Eileen Cummerfield (sister) dressed in cream radianta with black beaver hat trimmed with white fur, and Miss Inez Austin (cousin) in cream radianta with a white leghorn hat trimmed with heliotrope ribbon and pink rose. The bridesmaids also wore gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr J. Evans, brother of the bridegroom, officiated as best man.

After the ceremony the bride’s parents entertained a number of friends at their residence, when the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Evans left by the afternoon train for Napier where the honeymoon is to be spent and they will afterwards take up their residence in Foxton.
