REFERENDUM FAVOURS WHOLE BOROUGH.

SMALL POLLING

The ratepayers did not evince much interest in the poll taken on Tuesday to decide whether the whole, borough or only that portion it is intended to reticulate snould be pledged as security for the proposed water and drainage loans. Out of a roll number of 577, which, however, included a number of absentee land owners, only 194 voted. The returning officer declared the result of the poll at 7.18 o’clock, eighteen minutes after the booth closed, the result being : For the whole Borough 150 For the restricted area 43 Informal x Total votes recorded 194 When the result was declared the only persons present were Crs Chrystall and Whibley and our representative.
