HOCKEY.

The local men’s team yesterday played Moutoa and were victorious by two goals to nil after a particularly hard fought game. Moutoa were the runners up in last year’s competition and Foxton in defeating them put up a very good performance. Both goals, one in each spell, were scored by S. Bryant (wing forward). The game throughout was fast and interesting the ball travelling from end to end throughout. The whole of the local team played well and thoroughly deserved their win. Mr F. Woods was referee.

The ladies team journeyed to Levin and played Ohau, suffering defeat by seven goals to one. The Ohau team won the championship last year and have the distinction of not having suffered defeat since the formation of the club. Foxton’s goal was scored by Miss King.
