THE HEMP INDUSTRY.
APRIL, GRADING RETURNS. The total number of bales of hemp graded at the ports of the Dominion during April was 10,143, as compared with 18,620 for the corresponding mouth of last year, showing a decrease of 8,477 bales. For the twelve months ended April 30th, i9i4, the number of bales graded was 151,772, as compared with 129,993 for the previous twelve months, the increase being 21,779 bales. Details of the grading are Good High Low Fine. Fair. Pnt. Pnt. For the twelve months ended April ,30th, 1914, the number of bales graded was 48,759, as compared with 44,689 for the previous twelve mouths, an increase of 4,070 bales.
