AN APPRECIATION.

In his annual report to the parishioners of All Saints’ Church, the vicar, Rev G. Y. Woodward, paid a fine tribute to Mr A ?. Easton, people’s warden, winch will be heartily endorsed by members and adherents et that church. The vicar said ; “When one has worked with a man in the closest connection of ! parochial affairs, and gone through the ups and downs of parish Hie. for seven years, one possesses a fairly good idea of the character of the man one has worked with. I have found Mr Easton to be a man of sterling worth. Now over seventy, be is as keen as a man of thirty ; ever ready to take the hardest work, whatever that work may be, never failing in wbat be undertakes. He stands out as an example of one in v ' there is absolute reliance. Not only has he given his services freely and ungrudgingly, but be has given with a liberal hand of that which God has bestowed on him. He has done it, not with the object of receiving praise of men —for he has never received much of that — but because he loves the church, and has her welfare at he.vt. Perhaps I can never repay Mr Easton adequately for all that he has been to me, but I can ask him to accept my sincerest gratitude for all that he has done and the splendid loyalty he has shown to one so much younger than bimselt. With him, I do not forget Mrs Easton, who shares with her husband that strong love and attachment for their parish church. Together in an unceasing labour of love have they worked for the church, and done their very best. May God spare them fur many years yet, and fill them with His grace to continue the good work they have learnt to love so well.”
