BURGLARY AT PALMERSTON.
A young man named George Watson, alias Joseph Charles Falke, arrested at Palmerston on Saturday for burglary, was charged yesterday : (1) That on April 25th he did break aud enter the dwelling of L. H. Colliuson, and steal therefrom the sum of £3 is, the property of Miss Jessie Angus : (2) that he is a rogue and a vagabond within the meaning of the Police Offences Act, in that he was found in possession of housebreaking implements. Accused had also to answerjhe following charges in connection with offences he admitted committing in Mastertou (1) That he did enter the dwelling of A. T. Spain, and steal therefrom a bunch of keys, a silver sovereign case, and ys in money ; (2) That he did enter the premises of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., and steal therefrom £3 as 3d in money, ISO penny stamps, and 120 halfpenny stamps, the property of A. T, Spain ; (3) Breaking and entering the premises of one Allen, particulars of which offence the Palmerston police have not obtained. Accused pleaded guilty, aud was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence.
