CRICKET.
The enjoyment of the lour of the Horovvhen ua cricketers was to some extent marred by the unpropilious weather experienced, but taken all through, it proved to be a fairly successful trip. The wickets played on were fairly heavy, on account of the wet weather, and these conditions certainly did not favour the visitors, who, for the most part, were used to fast wickets. For the opening match at Petoue the weather was fine on both days, but the wicket was heavy. At Lower Hutt, on Foster Monday, the commencing of the match was delayed until after lunch, as rain fell almost all the morning.
