THE HOLIDAYS.
The weather for the Easter holidays was not all sunshine. The sky was overcast, and warm rain fell at intervals. The excursion trains carried large numbers ot holiday makers north and south. Foxton did not provide any holiday attractions, and had it not been for the arrival of the Wellington South Salvation Army Band, the town would have been very dead. A fair number of visitors were at the seaside. The Municipal Pictures were well patronised on Saturday and last night. The business people did not observe a holiday on Saturday. The several places ot worship were well filled on Sunday, when services appropriate to the season were held. A large number of local sports were attracted to the Feilding races yesterday, and a fair number left again this morning. The attraction at Palmerston yesterday was the Caledonian Sports, which were well patronised.
