HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.

The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows : The hemp market is steady. There is not much demand but prices are firm for New Zealand hemp. The Manila market is dull on account of the large supply on hand and continued increased sisal production. The Mexican sisal shipments for February totalled 94,326 bales as against 41,869 for February of last year. New Zealand good fair, £26 ; fair, £2l ; Manila fair current, £26 10s. The quotations are nominal for all positions. The sisal New York quotation is 5 and half cents, the Loudon quotation being about ,£26 per ton.
