WHARF MEN QUARREL.

EX STRIKERS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.

Timaru, March 27

As the outcome of ill feeling between the wharf strike leaders and the new union to which they are not admitted as members, a case will come before the court to-morrow, when Archibald Hall will be charged with assaulting McLeod, secretary of the arbitra tion union and with the theft of the keys of the wharf workers’ hall. McLeod was alone when Hall entered and abused and assaulted him and took away the keys.

When brought before a J.P., accused said there was a dispute as to the ownership of the hall, and he gave up the keys on the understanding that his doing so could not affect the claim.
