CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I was under the impression that as soon as one hundred telephone subscribers were obtained the local exchange would remain open till 10 p.m., instead of S p.m., as at present. I believe the number now exceeds one hundred. If this is correct, will someone move iu the matter re extension of time, which would be greatly appreciated by subscribers who have to deal with outside centres. —Yours, etc.,

Subscriber. [We have referred the above to the local postmaster. The present number of local subscribers is 95 —six more (ror) are required before the extension mentioned will be granted. We hope this number will be reached at an early date.— Ed. PL]
