NEIGHBOURS QUARREL.

ATTACKED WITH A KNIFE. Gisborne, March 9. A serious altercation occurred in Aberdeen road this evening, when, as the result of a neighbour’s quarrel, two men named Johanson and Bricknell, ended a heated argument in a sensational manner. It is alleged that Johanson attached Bricknell with a knife and slashed him somewhat severely about the face, besikes inflicting a number of wounds about the body. Neighbours rang up for the police, and at the same time sent for medical aid. When the police arrived Johanson was taken into custody. Johanson had the top joint of one finger cut off, but how he received this injury it is impossible to say. A third person, who sought to intervene, is reported to have received slight injuries. Johanson is well known in Gisborne, and has been in business as a builder during the past couple of years.
