ALL SAINTS’ SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.

On Saturday last the children of All Saints’ Sunday School held their annual picnic at the residence of Mr Walter Barber, Motuiti. Leaving the church at 10.30 a.m, the little ones were conveyed in vehicles kindly lent by Messrs H. Coley, W. Nye, G. Watt, Kelly and Walker and Furrie. A most enjoyable day was spent and both Mr and Mrs Barber did everything possible to make the affair a success. There were provisions in abundance and sweets liberally supplied by Mr Mitchell. The children showed their appreciation of these good things in royal fashion. At the close of the afternoon the vicar iu giving out the prizes for the sports called for three hearty cheers for Mr and Mrs Barber for the kindness they had shown, for Mr Hollingtonand his staff of teachers, and for all those who had contributed to the day’s happiness. The winners of the various races were as follows : Infant girls, Lucy Thomson 1, Rita Robinson 2; infant boys, Willie Morgan 1, Herbert Ruscoe 2 ; ist girls, Ida Donkins 1, Milva Collins 2 ; ist boys, Frank Wilson 1, Harry Wright 2; 2nd girls, Winnie Walls 1, Margaret Ruscoe 2; 2nd boys, Willie Griffin 1, Fred Wright 2; 3rd boys, Edward Robinson 1, Ken Robinson 2.
