SHIPPING.
This week has been a fairly busy one at the local port and on Thursday there were five vessels at the wharf discharging cargo. They all arrived on the morning tide, and three were able to sail the same night and the other two the following morning. Thursday.—The Waverley left for Wellington at 9 p.m,, Wootton for Pelorous Sound at 9.30, and the Queen of the South for Wellington,. with hemp and wool, at 11.15 p.m.
Friday.—The Putiki sailed for Westport at 10.30 a.m., and the Kennedy for Tarakohe at H o’clock.
The Queen of the South with a general cargo from Wellington, and the Kennedy with cement from Tarakohe, are due to* morrow.
