THE HEMP INDUSTRY.
Fly AX-DRESSING MACHINERY. BONUS ENTRIES. Forty entries have been received lor the Government bonus of for improved flaxdressing machinery. Entries closed on November 30, and will be opened at a special meeting of the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association next Friday. The competitors are from all parts of the world. Conditions attached to the bonus require the association to appoint a special committee of not less than six to open and fully consider entries, and, if necessary, get the patentees to give demonstrations. The appointment of this committee will be the work of Friday’s meeting. The Government will require fourteen davs’ notice to appoint experts to sit with this committee, and together they will constitute the sole judges deciding on the merits of the various machines, and whether the whole or part of- the bonus should be awarded.
