THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows; — During the week the Manila market has been quiet but steady, and closed dull. Fair current Manila, forward, £29 5s to 17,000 bales. New Zealand was in fair demand about-the beginning of the week, but shippers did not meet the market. At present buyers will not pay more than within 5s to 10s of last prices. Good fair is pressed for sale at closing values. Forward good fair, 12s i6d, fair, ss; spot nominal good fair, £2B ; fair, £25 17s 6d. Sisal unchanged.
