CRICKET.
The annual meeting of the Foxton Cricket Club was held in Mr Pcrreau's rooms on Thursday evening, when Mr P. Lumsden presided over a small attendance.
The report aud balance sheet was read and disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs, there being a credit balance of £i os 6d. The following officers were elected : Patron, Mr G. Coley ; president, Mr H. Coley; vicepresidents, Messrs Stiles, Green, Witchell, Betty, Phillips, Kellow, Dumsdeu, Gardes, Oben, Hornblow and Drs. Kerr-Hislop and Maudl; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Burgess ; captain, Mr W. Redgrave ; vice-captain, Mr W. Cook; committee, captain, vicecaptain, secretary aud Messrs H. Claris and H. B. Kerr-Hislop.
It was decided to affiliate with the Horowbenua Association.
As there are a large number of Wednesday players it was decided to play on Wednesdays as well as Saturdays. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thonks to Mr Perreau for kindly placing his rooms at the service of the club.
As the subscription to the club is so low (only ss) it is hoped that a number of the young men in town will find it convenient to join. It is intended to purchase a good practising net tor use in, the evenings so that players will have every chance of improving thenselves. A meeting of all players will be held on Mouday night ia Mr Perreau’s rooms at 7.45, when several important matters will be discussed.
