SUDDEN DEATH.
A young man named Raymond Andreson, aged 19 years, son of Mr Hans Andreson, of Foxton, died suddenly on Sunday evening. The deceased had been in the employ of Mr George Watt, carrier, for the past six months. On Sunday he appeared to be in his usual state of health and partook of a good breakfast. He drove a party to the Beach, arriving there shortly before 12 o’clock. He then complained of not feeling well and as he got worse it was deemed advisable to biing him back to Foxton. He was 100 ill to drive the conveyance and one of the passengers took charge, arriving at Mr Watt’s residence at about 3.30 o’clock. Medical aid was immediately summoned and deceased was put to bed. He iell into a sleep about an hour later and at 7 o’clock appeared to be sleeping peacefully. A few minutes later, however, on going into the room, Mrs Watt found that he had passed away. THE INQUEST. An inquest in connection with the above was held yesterday afternoon betore Mr A. Fraser, District Coroner, when the following evidence was adduced * John Scheldt, storekeeper, Buunythorpe, stated that deceased drove a cab, containing witness and others to the Beach on Sunday morning. They arrived there about 11.30 and when deceased was taking his horses out of the conveyance he complained of not feeling well. They all had some lunch together and afterwards started paddling in the water. Deceased then complained of feeling worse and he went back to the cab to have a rest. Witness and the other members of the patty returned to the cab at about 2 o’clock aud found that deceased was worse. They put the horses iu the cab and drove him into Foxton, taking him to Mr Watt’s house, and medical aid was summoned. George Watt, carrier, deposed that deceased had been in his employ for about six months. Some time ago he complained frequently of headaches but of late . had not done so. He appeared to be in his usual health on Sunday morning when he left for the Beach and had partaken of a good breakfast. After deceased was brought back from the Beach in the cab, about 3.30 o’clock, deceased, was put to bed and the doctor sent for. Deceased went to sleep about an hour later. He slept fairly peacefully aud was alright at 7 o’clock. Witness and Mrs Watt then went outside and witness fed the horses aud on returning to the house about five minutes later found that deceased had expired. Mr and Mrs Richards were in the hcuse during the lime witness and Mrs Walt were outside. Dr. Kerr-Hislop deposed that when called in to see deceased he found him unconscious. Upon examination he found evidence of valvular disease of the heart but the most pronounced . symptom pointed to some pressure on the brain. He left instructions to Mr and Mrs Watt as to treatment until his return in the evening. Just as he was preparing to again visit him a messenger arrived and upon , witness going over to the house be found deceased was dead. In company with Dr. Adams witness held a post mortem examination yesterday morning and found that death was due to a breaking of a blood vessel on the brain. The Coroner returned a verdict that death resulted from the breaking of a blood vessel on the brain. The funeral will take place tomonow afternoon, leaving the residence of Mrs Leach, Union St., at 2.30 o’clock for the Foxton Cemetery.
