ENTERTAINMENTS.

BAND CONCERT

MONDAY NIGHT,

The public is reminded of the Band Concert to be held in the Coronation Town Hall on Monday evening. Recently the Band was re-organised and greater enthusiasm has been evident on the part of members in its welfare but funds are requited to properly equip and maintain the Band. The Borough" Council recently made a grant to the funds, and provide a building for tbe use of members free of charge. The concert on Monday night is to supplement the funds. The programme provides a double attraction, the first portion to consist of vocal items by the best local talent available, and the second half will be devoted to moving pictures. It is hoped the public will show their practical sympathy with tbe Band by liberally patronising the concert.

TINY TOWN—THE BIG SHOW.

Tbe Mayoral contest for Tiny Town, which takes place during their New Zealand tour, will have a returning officer 36 inches high, and three candidates of 30m., 34in., and 35in. respectively. Their ages are 56, 24, and 55, and they stand in their respective interests of Conservatism, Liberalism, Labourism. Exactly which ’ism is to triumph is to be decided by visiting glanls, and no one standing under 7ft. high can boast the franchise. The present Mayor, Hayati Hassid, has been elected to his present position seven times, on the last occasion beating Tiny Town’s policeman, who craved political honours, by 200 votes only. Book your seats at the Town Clerk’s office.
