The following pupils of the Foxtou State School were successful in gaining prizes in the Palmerston Show :

Freehand drawing, ro to 12. — Irene Stiles merit card, Arthur Baker commended. Freehand drawing, 12 to 14. — George Walsh merit card, Stella Barber commended.

Brushwork, colour design, under 14. —Hope Mackie and Avis Stiles merit card, Olive Nye commended. Brushwork, over 14. Crowe merit card, Vera Crowe commended.

Mapping, Canada or India.—A. Thompson merit card, Darcy Robinson commeuded. Merit cards are first prizes. In freehand drawing each merit card is accompanied by as 6J, mapping 5 s - Several sections are not yet judged.
