DARING BURGLARY.
Wanganui, November 2 A daring burglary took place here last night, wheu the butcher’s shop of Messrs Senior and Bennett was entered and the safe- blown open. The burglars had prepared a pit in the yard. The safe weighed about 4cwt., but efforts to remove it were given up, and instead earth was carried into the shop to deaden the sound of the explosion. People were sleeping in houses only a few yards away. The burglars’ haul included iu cash and ,£3B iu cheques, but they left £ll odd iu cash among the debris.
