THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.
The High Commissioner cabled at noon to-day as follows : There is no material change in the Manila hemp market, which is steady with moderate demand. Reports indicate that Manila holders are firm. Prices .£3O 10s for all positions. The output for the week was 17,000 bales. The New Zealand market is quiet but firm. Good lair, 5s ; fair, steady market for sisal, which is quoted at New York at six cents, equal to ,£2B c.i.f. Europe.
