OLD PARLIAMENTARIANS.
An interesting return was laid hetore Parliament last week, showing the service of each member. The late Sir A. R. Guinness (who was Speaker of the present Parliament) was elected on 19th August, 1884, and attended 35 sessions ot 10 Parliaments. Sir Waller Buchanan (1882), Sir James Carroll, Sir Joseph Ward and the Hon. J. Allen (all elected in 1887) have each served in 9 Parliaments and attended 32 sessions. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, now High Commissioner, was elected in 1887, served in 7 Parliaments, and attended 27 sessions ; Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister), Hon. R. M’Kenzie, Hon. J. A. Millar and Hon. W. Fraser 1894, 7, 24; Hon. F. W. Lang 1894, 7, 22 ; Hon. W. H. Herries and Mr John Bollard 1897, 6, 21 ; Hon. D. Buddo 1894, 6, 20: Dr. Newman 18S4, 6, 19; Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Messrs Colvin, Ell, Hanan and Laurenson 1900, 5, 17 ; Mr Wilford 1900, 5, 16 ; Mr Sidey 1902. 5, 15 ; Messrs Davey, Mauder, Willv, J. C. Thomson 1903, 4, 14; Mr G. W. Russell 1894, 4, 13 ; Hon. F. M. B. Fisher 1905, 4, 12 ; Messrs Malcolm, Ngata, Poland 1906, 3, 11 ; Hon. A. E. Herdman 1904, 3. io ;Mr Seddon 1906, 3, 10. All the others have attended less than ten sessions.
