NOTES AND COMMENTS.
Ri<; Archdeacon Harper’s reference at a recent meeting in All Saints’ schoolroom to women in Wellington allowing their children to roam the streets while they attend picture entertainments, “Reader” informs us that the Archdeacon did not particularly single out picture entertainments as the principal cause of parental neglect. He was referring to the fact that the home lile was sacrificed to certain forms of pleasure, which included the love of pictures. We may add that whal the Rev Mr Harper said applied to Wellington has equal application to almost every centre of population throughout the Do minion. The rich and poor alike have their pleasure god in some form or other, to which the higher duties ot life are sacrificed.
