THE ROYAL WEDDING.
London, Oct. 15. The marriage of Prince Arthur of Connaught to the Duchess of Fiie took place at the Chapel Royal, St. James’ Palace, to-day. There was a brilliant assemblage. The Primate officiated. The King gave the bride away in the presence of the Queen, Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Connaught, King and Queen of Norway and other royal personages. Huge and enthusiastic crowds filled the streets.
The presents numbered over 500 and were valued at ,£300,000. They include jewels from royalties in England, Europe, Japan and India.
The King and Queen’s gift was a tiara of a thousand diamonds. The Canadian Ministry presented a silver dinner service.
A suffragette was airested for throwing papers at the King’s coach. Other women threw papers at the coach in which were driven Queen Alexandra and the Queen of Norway.
