AN AUSTRALIAN TRAGEDY.

A tragedy has occurred at North Dandalup. Mrs Molyneaux, during theabseuceof her husband, was paid attentions by a man named Odgers. Subsequently the Molyneauxs removed to another district. Odgers, learning their whereabouts, borrowed a rifle and ammunition, and visited the Molyneauxs’ house. He demacdcd to see the wife. The husband warned her to escape, and then, after struggling with Odgers for the rifle, himself fled with the two children. Odgers fired two shots after them harmlessly.
After several more shots were fired, Molyneaux and a neighbour returned to the house, and found Mrs Molyneaux shot dead. Odgers disappeared, but was discovered a mile from the scene of the tragedy shot through the mouth. His jaw was fractured, but bis condition is not serious, and he was taken to the hospital. Apparently he attempted his own life.
