The Manawatu Herald. Tuesday, October 7th., 1913. NOTES AND COMMENTS.
As from yesterday, Parliament is to transact business ot the country on Monday nights—a majority of ten (3S votes to 2S) deciding on this course last Friday, on the motion of the Prime Minister. Also, on the word of the Prime Minister, the House, if it settles down to real business earnestly, will be able to get through the work proposed in six weeks. Signs and indications make it obvious that the Opposition does not share Mr Massey’s optimism. Of late too much talk has been indulged in to the detriment of the country’s business. There has bean no justification in hanging up necessary legislation, and it the session is prolonged the fault lies with one or two windy members who are hankering after the limelight.
