ENTERTAINMENTS.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES

There was a record booking of reserved seats for last night’s Municipal pictures, advantage being taken ot the privilege of having the right to reserve seats free of charge, and the large attendance was evidence that there is no wane in the continued popularity of the Municipal venture. The programme for Saturday night promises to be a most taking one. The Star film, “Sacrificed to the Lions,” is described as being the most sensational and powerful Backwoods drama ever screened, depicting frontier life in the Indian territory with startling realism. The other dramas are three in number, “Lady Peggy’s Escape,” a most exciting and admirably screened Irish play ; “A Canine Sherlock Holmes.” demonstrating the marvellous sagacity and intelligence of a clever dog detective ; “The Perfidy of Mary,” a vigorous tale of a woman’s deceit. A queer, quaint, and highly entertaining film, and one of Pathe’s delightful coloured pictures will be seen iu “Our Little Pussie.” The scenic, “Picturesque Croatia,” is a radiantly beautiful and delightful rural landscape study. The three comics are: “Auntie and the Girls,” an Edison picture, showing the escapades of the girls, and how they end iu a startling and unexpected climax ; ‘The Unseen” tells how an old skinflint gets rid of his tenants by means of ghostly sounds being heard in the villa which he has let to them, the tenants being only too glad to get away before their time is up and forfeit the rent paid; “Stop Thief!” is a most amusing comedy, and i« a laughable hugh and cry. The Warwick Chronicle, which always contains a budget of most interesting items of recent occurrence, will be received with the usual amount of applause, as will the whole programme, which is of a very enticing nature.
