DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM.

Dunedin, Sept. 19. This morning a young lady, Miss Marryatt, of Milton, died at a private hospital, while under chloroform, which was administered to permit of the removal of a growth on her jaw. Drs. Roberts and Pickerill were (he medical men in attendance. The operation bad been commenced when the patient ceased breathing, and though everything possible was done to restore consciousness, the efforts were unavailing.
