Wellington defeated Otago today by 18 points to 11. There were about 5,000 present and the ground was in splendid order with but little wind. The game was fast and exciting and until half-way through the second spell, Otago looked like winning. AUSTRALIA DEFEATS SOUTH CANTERBURY. Ttmaru, September 17. The Rugby match resulted Australia 16, South Canterbury 3. The match was played in the presence of about 3,000 under the best conditions.
