TECHNICAL CLASSES.
Mr H. F. Gabites has accepted the position of supervisor of the technical classes in connection with the local technical school, and elsewhere in this issue he sets out the various classes of instruction—and the several instructors in connection with same. Mr P. G. Jackson will control English and arithmetic sections, and this class will meet every Monday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. The First Aid class for St. John’s Ambulance certificate will be conducted by Dr Mandl. Mr Gabites will be the instructor in drawing and painting, while the cookery class will be supervised by one of the Board’s instructresses, and and dressmaking will also be taught by arrangement. All classes, except cookery, will be held at the school. Mrs Hornblow has placed her kitchen at the disposal of the cookery class until further-arrangements are made by the Board. It is hoped that the classes will be well filled, and that technical education will be firmly established locally. Information as to fees, which are extremely low, and all other matters, may by obtained from the supervisor, Mr Gabites, at the local State school,
