PROVE ALL THINGS.
To win a wager an English marquis stood on Eondon bridge and offered sovereigns for five shillings. He could not find a customer. It is not to be wondered at; the public look askance at any proposition when the person is apparently a financial loser without direct or indirect gain. Fraudulent schemes have often bjen successful ; and in those days sceptics wanted better proof than the word of a marquis. No evidence can be stronger than the testimony given below, read it:—
Mrs F. E. Ley land, 79 Broad Street, Palmerston North, says; “For some time a member of my family was a martyr to backache and other symptoms of kidney trouble, and although I tried many remedies, it was not until Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills had been used for a few days, that I really saw any improvement. I persevered with this remedy, using in all four bottles, and by then all signs of backache, headache and dizziness harf completely disappeared. The kidney secretions, which were very much effected, prior to using Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills, were also restored to a healthy condition. Although two years have elapsed since the cure was effected, there has been no return of any aches or pains, and this proves that Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills cure, not for a,
day or so, but for all time. I recommend this remedy with every confidence and feel sure if Kidney sufferers will take a thorough course, they will soon be well again.”
Look after your kidneys and when you don’t feel well take a dose of Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills, for this is a special medicine for the kidneys and bladder, and will make you well and keep you well. Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills are sold by all chemists and storekeepers at 3s per bottle (six bottles 16s 6d), or will be posted on receipt of price by Foster-Mc-Clellan Co., 76 Pitt St., Sydney. Strange rumours have been afloat since iqn regarding the health of the little heir to the Russian throne. In iqti, the Tsarevitch injured himself while wrestling, while a sinister interpretation was put upon bis illness by the fact that the admiral to whom he had been entrusted committed suicide shortly after. The !ate of Russia may be said to be bound up in the life of the young prince Alexis. He is the filth and youngest child of the Tzar of all the Russians. When he came into the world during the RussoJapanese war, Russia went frantic with joy, and the Tsar himself declared that he could henceforth look to the future without fear. Several good stories are told of the young Prince. Of these, the best, concerning the late King Edward, is as follows :—Once, at breakfast on board Victoria and Albert, the Tsarevitch broke in on the conversation of his elders by shouting, “Grandpa.” King Edward bade him be silent, and Alexis obeyed. Then His Majesty relented, and asked him to have his say. “Too late,” replied the Tsarevitch, “I was going to tell you there was a caterpillar in your salad, but you have eaten it now.”
